scott pilgrim vs the world

Scott pilgrim vs the world is one of my ultimate favorite movies. and it was directed by the one and only Edgar Wright.(also directed Sean of the dead). It starts off about a nerdy kid named scout pilgrim from Toronto Canada.

Scott Pilgrim played by one of my favorite actors Michael Cera is an unemployed 23-year-old bass guitarist in an up-and-coming garage rock band who is dating a  17 year old high school girl, Knives Chau. Because he had recently broken up so hes doing irrational things. He is very happy until one day Ramona Flowers is introduced on roller-blades into his life. He then could only think of Romona and completely forgot he was dating knives. Ramona moved to Toronto from NY to find peace and quiet and leave her past behind. No one knows what her past is, but Scott so dispiritedly wants her as his new new girlfriend. Before Scott can begin dating Ramona, he must prove himself by defeating the league of her seven exes who controls her love life. They will do anything to get rid of and destroy any new boyfriend Ramona may come across. Scout finds this out when he and his band get a break and get a gig to play. during there turn scout was ambushed by Romonas first evil ex and learns what he must do to win her heart.

This movie has great actors and it even had its own music composed just for this movie. Its fun, exhilarating, comical, and action packed. There's love, fighting, and music who doesn't like that? Its defiantly nothing like you've ever seen before in the movie that's for sure. It also incorperated video games into the plot. Its like a what if video game concepts were real kinda thing, for example when he defetes an evil ex he turns into coins like in an aracde.

I thought this film didnt have any significant messages to it but it was just a movie about what scout would do to be with his new found love. I thought this movie was filled with comdey bacuse Ive never laughed so much in a movie theater before. There is however one draw back to this movie and i think its gereration baced for the concept. like any other folks wont get the hummor or jokes becasue they didnt grow up with the same tecnology my generation did. Overall I wasent bored at any part of the movie and i simply could not wait for this movie to come out on blue ray after i first saw it. So if you love action, love, music, and fights, and video games this is the movie for you.

It by Steven King

It by Steven king was a phenomenal read brought to life by Tommy Lee Wallace. A fairly long movie running over 3 hours long in an attempt to cover as much as possible from the best seller book. Although  the story is a horrifying tale you can see the message i believe Steven king was trying to convey in the back round. That message is courage and without it non of these characters in the movie would have defeated the monster in the first place.

The movie starts out with a flash back of the main character when he lost his little brother to the monster it. This is significant because this is the fuel to his and the groups fire to defeat this thing. This film is great not only because it is captivating but it has so many great messages because it also speaks on social outcasts and kids who are bullied and called losers. Theres about seven characters in this social outcast group as kids and then as adults. It really shows that is dosent matter who you are but if you have greinds and courage you can do great things. The movie has periodic flash backs on all the adult characters showing what happened when they were kids and how they were potryed as outcasts and losers.

As each of them face their greatest fears as they they vow to avenge the deaths of Georgie the main characters brother that was killed and every other child killed by "It." They travel into the sewers followed by Henry, who is intent on murdering them for humiliating him. But instead, he witnesses the death of his best friend Belch in a manner that turns his hair completely white. Pennywise is the clowns name portayed as it and he attempts to attack the children by separating them, but Eddie one of the characters with asma manages to wound him and Beverly the only girl in the group of outcasts drives him back by striking him with a silver slug made from one of Ben's silver dollars. Their job done, the seven vow to return some day if ever It returns. Henry unfortunalty is arrested and sentenced to life in an asylum for confessing to the counts of murder of all the children.

in the second half of the movie its more focused on the adult characters and how they come back togther again and finish the job they started as kids by going back to the sewer and killing it also called Pennywise. What i really enjoyed about this movie besides the story line is the great actors it had in it. Tim Curry, John Ritter, and even seth green. fantastic acters they really made this movie shine. If you havent seen this movie i would highly suggest you go buy it and watch it. Its one of the classiscs.

The mist

The mist is a very interesting story written first by steven king and then later directed by Frank Darabont. The story starts off with a massive storm that hit a small town of louisiana near a military bace. wich made a bunch of folks go the grocery store to buy supplys after the destruction. so as the father played by Thomas Jane and his son were in the store a older man ran in screaming theres something in the mists as the thick cloud of mist covers the store. Everyones in a panic trying to figure everything out.

The father a young boy a store clerk and two matencemen go to the back loading dock to fix the generator and encounter something they never seen before and as they try to break it to the rest of the people some panic some try to rationalize and a few decied there all idiots and leave the store thinking theres nothing in the mist. The story goes on and it really shows a very divirse thought about how people react to such a confusing and scary situation. It makes me think about how would i act in this situation and not many movies can do that. What i really like about this movie is that it leaves alot for your imagination.

It didnt stick to the book exactly but what movie can? I think the change to the end made it alot more suspenceful and also shows that your will to survive can always improve. In the book it ended with the father and the boy in some random apertment with a radio looking for anyone and in the movie the father kills the last remaining survivers in an attemt to not die by being eaten. so in a crazy bad luck scenaro the father shot all his bullets and ran out before he got to hiself and then got really sad and started cry becasue of the situation then proceded to get out of the car to taught anything to kill him and then saw the army rolling by killing off any monsters. If only they had just waited a few moments more they would of all been saved. So thats my take on the movie hope i didnt spoil anythign for those who havent watched it yet.

The secret window

My goal here is to excite you that there are good movies out there. The secret window was also an awesome movie. This was also a movie that derived from literature by Steven King. This movie was about a man played by Johnny Depp that was a writer that had been going though a messy divorce and was living in a very secluded house in the middle of nowhere so he could write his books in peace. when all the sudden a man knocked on his door claiming that he had stole his story. So when Mort (Johnny Depp) tried to get his article printed on an earlier date then this random mans story he found his old house burned to the ground and that's when things really started to escalate and he found his dog dead with a screw driver in its head. then Mort called an old friend of his to get the story he showed him the story and eventually found out he was making a dual personality. this movie really does a great job portraying someone that lost everything and how it eventully had him sick in the head. This movie had a lot of twists and turns and was very well written. The book was obviously better then the movie but what movie based on a book is? lots be honest books will always be better. This was one of those movies that you finish and you were very glad you watched it and that's a rare commodity these days. However if you look hard enough you can find those few great movies. unfortunaly a lot of Steven Kings movies are B rated movies on the sifi channel.

The Shawshank Redemption

I have a stright forward goal and that's to show you there is good movies out there and The Shawshank redemption was by far one of the better movies i have ever seen. The story came from the auther Steven king. Originaly once a book brought to life by directer Frank Darabont. The story was about a  very successful man named Andy Dufresne that had his beloved wife leave him for another man deciding to shot his wife and her lover be instead sobered up and realized that was the right way to go about it. However a disgruntaled waiter killed them that same night and the athories blamed it on Andy. Andy was sentenced to life in prison. This is were the real story of hardship, friends and an act of freedom happens. I very much enjoyed this movie becasue it had such realisitc veiws of what it would really be like in prison at that time. What kinds of freinds you make, what kinds of enemies you would have and what the toll of prison does to a man. In the end Andy gets what he deserves and breaks out of prison to freedom in mexico and on top of that makes a life long friend that finds him after being paroled from prison. This movie really inspired my ambition to be more succsseful becuase it goes to show you only have one life to live and so how will you live it? This movie also shows the faults in our court system and how we could falsely accuse and inicent man and throw his life away beacuse they had the wrong man. This movie also shows that in spite of everything going wrong sometimes there is a light at the end of the tunnel and good things can happen.
